If you have a lot of pain and bleeding or you are running a high temperature, it is important that you contact your GP or the hospital.

Follow up

It is important that you have a check up 2-4 weeks after the termination to ensure everything is back to normal. In a very few cases, the termination may not be complete and the pregnancy may still be ongoing.

It is also important to make sure that you have good contraception organised for use afterwards. Ideally you should start this on the day you have the abortion.
